DESCRIPTION:Attention Métis families! \nGolden Ears Métis Society (GEMS)\, Fraser River Indigenous Society (FRIS)\, and Métis Nation BC (MNBC) invite you to join us to discuss connecting to our Métis Ancestors. This information session will take place on January 19\, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm at the One Way Club Society\, 22270 North Avenue\, Maple Ridge.  \nThis event is an excellent opportunity for those who have Métis heritage\, or think they may have Métis heritage\, to learn more about ways to connect to their culture and community\, and for those in the community to share their family stories. \nAfter the presentation\, there will be time to learn and share stories with the community over light refreshments. MNBC Citizenship staff will be available to answer questions about applying for Citizenship and the Citizenship process. GEMS invites you to bring copies of your ancestral photos to display on the Ancestor wall. (You will take the copies with you when you leave.) \nCome celebrate Métis culture with music and prizes. \nPlease RSVP your attendance to ensure we have enough refreshment available for attendees.
